SpectroTech develop an economic relief programme for our training customers and clients
28/01/2009 - Why investing in training and development of staff is more important than ever during a financial crisis.
Without doubt the more educated and better trained staff are, the more likely they are to make a valuable contribution.
Learning and development is essential for both employees and employers, as well-trained and motivated staff improve the productivity of businesses.
In the current economic climate, it is more crucial than ever that employers concentrate on developing and retaining the vital skills and knowledge in people that will grow their business.
While it may seem counterintuitive, during difficult economic times, investing in training programs is more important than ever. The care and nurturing of the organization’s most valuable asset—its human resources—is likely to have a profound influence on the overall health of the organisation. Smart employers will seize the opportunity to develop meaningful training paradigms to give their organisations the competitive edge.
What can SpectroTech do?
Over the coming months, SpectroTech will be releasing a number of new cost effective courses. These courses are designed to help individuals and organisations achieve their learning and development goals on a limited training budget whilst not impacting quality of the learning experience.
How do we do this?
The following are some of the measures we will take to help our customers.
- Concentrate on "content" and "delivery". Content is critical to a successful learning and development programme as is the right delivery. Several of our new courses will focus specifically on the content required by our students, without additional information of less relevance, often found in international training and certification programmes. This allows for delivery in a lesser time frame whilst not impacting quality of the learning experience. This also reduces the cost of expensive week long programmes down to a cost effective one or two day learning experiences in some cases.
- Eliminate give-aways. Students do not really need the t-shirts, fancy pens, backpacks and key chains that training companies typically give away as enticements to attend programs. Students will attend those programs they perceive as relevant to their experience whether they receive a key chain or not.
- Concentrate on “substance” not “form.” Handouts are critical to any successful program. These handouts, however, don’t need to be too fancy—just informative, neat, and readable. In some of our courses we will eliminate or use less expensive binding, color printing and bonding to reduce the cost and pass on the savings to our customers.
